Traci Jones, <\/strong><\/span>coordinator<\/span><\/p>\n Our mission is to provide a safe, stigma-free environment where mental health peers can have the opportunity to interact with companion animals as well as participate in various activities that promote healthy mental hygiene.\u00a0 The vision of Rise Phoenix Rise is to share the benefits of rescued animals with those struggling with mental illness.\u00a0 Rescued animals are magical healers who will be beneficial to the mental health community.\u00a0 Together the companion animals and the mental health peers can \u201crise from the ashes\u201d of their struggles into wellness.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Interested in visiting Rise Phoenix Rise with your therapy dog?<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n Rise Phoenix Rise is a vetted facility<\/a> working closely with Therapy Dogs Boulder County to bring some wonderful dog therapy to children who greatly appreciate the interaction on a daily basis.\u00a0 This Therapy Dog program is a totally volunteer<\/strong> program and operates with team visits at the Longmont United Hospital conference room on the 3rd Wednesday of each month from 6pm to 8pm.<\/span><\/p>\n All teams (a team is a handler and dog) are signed up on a regular visiting schedule or as a backup team ready to serve on short notice.<\/span><\/p>\n All teams are part of a group email list so they can communicate absences and emergency coverage.\u00a0 A monthly schedule is created and sent to all teams and administration\u00a0just before the beginning of each new month.<\/span><\/p>\n Requirements for therapy dog teams:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n <\/span>\u2013 Alliance of Therapy Dogs (www.therapydogs.com<\/u><\/a>)<\/span> If you are not presently registered with any association, there are several tester\/observers for Alliance of Therapy Dogs inside of our Therapy Dogs Boulder County group who can help get you started on that process.\u00a0 Use the \u201ccontact us<\/a>\u201d selection from the\u00a0main menu and let us know you would like to be tested with your dog.<\/span><\/p>\n If you would like to make application to be a therapy dog team at Rise Phoenix Rise in Longmont, CO, please click on the following Facility Application Form<\/a> link which will take you to the Facility application page.\u00a0 If you would like to make application to more than one Facility, please read about their requirements first before selecting them on the application:<\/span><\/p>\n DOGS ONLY, please<\/span><\/p>\n Traci Jones, coordinator Why RPR?
