Introduction<\/b><\/span><\/h2>\n

Colorado\u2019s courts play important roles in your life. When you buy or sell goods or property, get <\/span>married or divorced, have children, work, retire, drive a car, and even after you die, your state courts <\/span>can protect your rights and enforce your responsibilities. If you are the victim of a crime, are accused of <\/span>committing a crime, or witness a crime, you may be required to appear in a Colorado court. You may also <\/span>be called upon to serve as a juror, one of the most important privileges we all share as citizens.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/span>\n<\/div>\n

THERAPY DOG TEAMS:<\/span> Are you interested in visiting at the Boulder County Justice Center in Longmont with your therapy dog?<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The Boulder County Justice Center in Longmont is a vetted facility<\/a><\/span> working closely with Therapy Dogs Boulder County to bring some wonderful dog therapy to staff and visitors who greatly appreciate the interaction.\u00a0 This Therapy Dog program is a totally volunteer<\/strong> program and operates with team visits during each week.<\/span><\/p>\n

All teams (a team is a handler and dog) are signed up to a group email list which will coordinate the special visits with the facility.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Requirements for therapy dog teams:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

  1. Therapy Dog Registration:\u00a0 All teams must be registered with a therapy dog association.\u00a0 The accepted registration memberships are:<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    <\/span>\u2013 Alliance of Therapy Dogs (www.therapydogs.com<\/u><\/a>)<\/span><\/p>\n

    If you are not presently registered with this association, there are several tester\/observers for Alliance of Therapy Dogs inside of our Therapy Dogs Boulder County group who can help get you started on that process.\u00a0 Use the \u201ccontact us<\/a><\/span>\u201d selection from the\u00a0main menu and let us know you would like to be tested with your dog.<\/span><\/p>\n

    2.\u00a0 Teams must also be registered with this website (TDBC) with their contact info and ATD card.<\/span><\/p>\n

    3.\u00a0 Handlers will be asked to sign a release form for a Background Check and handler must be approved by the facility before work begins.<\/span><\/p>\n
