Our location is adjacent to National Forest land, allowing us unequaled access to the natural environment for study and exploration of the mountain ecological system. We value STEM learning at Nederland Elementary and outdoor fitness and education are an emphasis at all grade levels. Our academic program is well rounded in all content areas. In addition, we emphasize character growth and development through our Caring Community programming. Our parent and community support and involvement is high and contributes to our success. font-size: 14pt;\">Nederland Elementary School is a <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/theholles.com\/therapydogsbouldercounty\/vetted-facility\/\">vetted facility<\/a><\/span> working closely with Therapy Dogs Boulder County to bring some wonderful dog therapy to children who greatly appreciate the interaction on a daily basis.\u00a0 This Therapy Dog program is a totally <strong>volunteer<\/strong> program and operates with team visits during week days and special events.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">All teams (a team is a handler and dog) are signed up on a regular visiting schedule.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">The monthly frequency of visits are:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">1st, 3rd and 5th weeks on same day<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">2nd and 4th weeks on same day<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">Every Week on same day<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\"><br \/>\n<span class=\"\" style=\"display:block;clear:both;height: 0px;padding-top: 20px;border-top-width:0px;border-bottom-width:0px;\"><\/span>All teams are required to take a schedule available to them using the above choices.\u00a0 There are no floating schedules or visitations.\u00a0 All teams are part of a group email list so they can communicate absences and emergency coverage.\u00a0 A monthly schedule is created and sent to all teams and administration\u00a0just before the beginning of each new month.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\"><strong>Requirements for therapy dog teams:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">Therapy Dog Registration:\u00a0 All teams must be registered with a therapy dog association.\u00a0 The accepted registration memberships are:<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;
